IS THERE A FEE TO PARK?

Parking is $5 per vehicle. You may prepay at the time of registration or pay as you enter. Cash only

WHY AM I CHARGED PROCESSING FEES?

The fee is charged by the online registration platform to cover credit card processing fees and CPI compliance.

WHAT TIME DOES THE RACE START?

Registration and gates will be open at 9:00 am. Opening announcements will begin at 10:20 am and the first wave will be released at 10:30 am. Waves of 50 will take off every 5 minutes.

WHAT IS THE MINIMUM AGE TO RACE?

Racers under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult during the 5K.  The minimum age for the 5K is 6. The minimum age for the 10K is 13. **No one is allowed on the course or obstacles before, during, or after the event if they are not a paid, registered participant. Please do not leave any kids unattended during the event.

WILL THERE BE A PLACE TO STORE MY BELONGINGS?

Yes, we will have a free and secure bag check area where you may store any belongings during the event.

DO I NEED TO BRING ANYTHING TO THE RACE?

Yes, a picture ID is needed to check-in for the race and for a 21 and over wristband for beer. It is a good idea to bring a towel, an extra change of clothes, and a trash bag to keep dirty clothes in. You will want to stick around! There will be local vendors, food, and beverages available.

WILL WATER BE PROVIDED?

Yes, we will have several water stations throughout the course. There will also be water to purchase for $1.00 at the food vendors.

CAN I WALK THE COURSE?

Yes, paid participants can walk the course, there is no time limit to finish the race.

HOW TOUGH IS THE COURSE?

Our goal is to challenge you and push you to your limits with a combination of running broken up by various military-style obstacles. The course is designed for people of all fitness levels to enjoy and have a good time. There will be plenty of volunteers at each obstacle to give you a hand if you need it, but be sure to give it your best effort!

CAN I GO AROUND AN OBSTACLE?

You will not be forced to participate in anything you do not feel comfortable with. We encourage all participants to compete at their comfort level. There will be plenty of volunteers on the obstacles there to encourage you or help you to the next step. The bottom line is to have FUN!

WILL IT BE NECESSARY TO SWIM AS PART OF THE OBSTACLES?

No – the event does not include swimming. The slides do have water pits at the bottom which are about 4-5ft deep. Any water crossings are accessible on foot and may come up to about your waist.

CAN WE BRING OUR OWN ALCOHOL?

No outside alcohol will be allowed due to liability issues. All ice chests will be inspected at the entrance. A beer garden will be at the event with beer to purchase.

ARE DOGS ALLOWED AT THE EVENT?

Sorry, there are NO dogs allowed at the Shasta Mud Run, so please leave them at home. (Service dogs are allowed)

CAN I PICK UP RACE PACKETS FOR FAMILY MEMBERS OR TEAMMATES?

Yes, you can pick up packets for family members and teammates as long as they have signed the waiver online during registration. You will need a copy of their ID (if over 18). A picture on a cell phone of the ID will be accepted.

CAN WE PICK UP OUR RACE PACKET ON THE DAY OF THE RACE?

Yes, you may pick up your packet on the day of the race. Please arrive at the venue by 9:00 am. All race packets MUST BE PICKED UP BY 11 am! Be prepared to stand in line for a while!

ARE THERE SIGN-UPS FOR WAVE TIMES?

You asked for it, you got it!!! You can now sign up for a wave time during your online registration!! First come, first serve, so be sure to register early! You may also choose to wait and sign up for a wave time at a later date (i.e. if you are waiting for teammates to register so you can all sign up for the same wave). You can also sign up for a wave on the day of the event. (Waves of 50 will be released every 5 minutes.)

WHAT TYPE OF SHOES SHOULD I WEAR?

We recommend that participants wear shoes that they do not care to have drenched in mud. Because you will be running a 5K or 10K, you should have a dependable pair of running shoes that are supportive. Participants will often duct tape their shoes to ensure they don’t slip off in the mud. Oftentimes, shoes are lost! Sorry, we are not responsible for any items lost on the course!

AM I ABLE TO RINSE OFF AFTER MY RACE?

Yes – We will a provide rinse-off station, but if you want to avoid the lines. Bring extra clothes to change into!

ARE ANY AREA HOTELS OFFERING DISCOUNTS?

Yes, for those visiting Redding for the Shasta Mud Run, there will be several hotels offering discounts, as well as other activities and restaurants that weekend. IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE TO DO?

Yes!! There will be plenty to do! We will have local vendors, food, beverages and don’t forget about the FREE Mud Pit for the kiddos!

WHAT IS THE FREE KIDS MUDDY AREA?

The FREE Mini Muddies Mud Pit is a great place for kiddos 10 and under not participating in the race. There will be a mud pit and play area for them to enjoy! While there will be volunteers at the kid’s area, BUT please do not leave kids unattended. There is no online registration for the Mini Muddies area. All waivers will be filled out at the Mini Muddie registration table. Limited T-shirts are available for purchase, and we recommend you order yours early!

WILL THERE BE A PHOTOGRAPHER ON-SITE TAKING PICTURES OF THE PARTICIPANTS?

There will be several photographers taking pictures throughout the course. We cannot guarantee that they will get a picture of everyone though. Be sure to have friends or family members not participating in the race-ready with their cameras as you cross the finish line in mud-covered glory! All pictures will be available on our website and Facebook after the event.

CAN A FRIEND OR FAMILY MEMBER, NOT REGISTERED, TAKE PICTURES ON THE COURSE?

Only registered participants are allowed on the course due to safety and liability. There will be several observation areas where friends and family can take pictures. There will also be a photo booth available to take the team and individual pictures.

IS THERE TEAM REGISTRATION?

Yes! You are more than welcome to register as a team when you sign up online. In order to submit your team for others to sign up, make sure you complete your registration on that team first. Once the team is in our database, you are more than welcome to sign up multiple people with one transaction.

WHAT ARE THE DISCOUNTS FOR TEAM REGISTRATION?

Teams of 4 or more who register at the same time receive a 10% discount.
