WHERE IS THE MUD RUN?

WHAT TIME DOES THE RACE START?
Registration and gates will be open at 9:00am. Opening announcements will begin at 11am. Waves of 50-75 will take off every 7 minutes.
WHAT IS THE MINIMUM AGE TO RACE?
Racers under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult during the 5K. Minimum age for the 5K is 5. Minimum age for the 10K is 15. **No one is allowed on the course or obstacles before, during, or after the event if they are not a paid, registered participant. Please do not leave any kids unattended during the event.
WILL THERE BE A PLACE TO STORE MY BELONGINGS?
Yes, we will have a free and secure bag check area where you may store any belongings during the event.
DO I NEED TO BRING ANYTHING TO THE RACE?
Yes, a picture ID is needed to check in for the race and for a 21 and over wrist band for beer. It is also a good idea to bring a towel, extra change of clothes, and a trash bag to keep dirty clothes in. You will want to stick around! There will be local vendors, food, and beverages available. Be sure to bring money for those!
WILL WATER BE PROVIDED?
Yes, we will have several water stations throughout the course. There will also be water to purchase for $1.00 at the food vendors.
CAN I WALK THE COURSE?
Yes, paid participants can walk the course, there is no time limit to finish the race.
HOW TOUGH IS THE COURSE?
Our goal is to challenge you and push you to your limits with a combination of running broken up by various military style obstacles. The course is designed for people of all fitness levels to enjoy and have a good time. There will be plenty of volunteers at each obstacle to give you a hand if you need it, but be sure to give it your best effort!
CAN I GO AROUND AN OBSTACLE?
You will not be forced to participate in anything you do not feel comfortable with. We encourage all participants to compete at their comfort level. There will be plenty of volunteers on the obstacles there to encourage you or help you to the next step. The bottom line is to have FUN!
WILL IT BE NECESSARY TO SWIM AS PART OF THE OBSTACLES?
No – the event does not include swimming. The slides do have water pits at the bottom which are about 4-5ft deep. Any water crossings are accessible on foot and may come up to about your waist.
CAN WE BRING OUR OWN ALCOHOL?
No outside alcohol will be allowed due to liability issues. All ice chests will be inspected. A beer garden will be at the event with beer to purchase.
ARE DOGS ALLOWED AT THE EVENT?
Sorry, there are NO dogs allowed at the Shasta Mud Run, so please leave them at home. (Service dogs are allowed)
IS THERE PACKET PICK UP BEFORE THE EVENT?
Yes!!! We highly encourage everyone to pick up their packets ahead of time at our Packet Pick Up event on Thursday, May 11th from 7am-6pm at Everyday Fitness, 2345 Athens Ave., Redding, CA 96001. You can get all your race day goodies and sign up for a wave time at Packet Pick Up! (First come, first serve)
CAN I PICK UP RACE PACKETS FOR FAMILY MEMBERS OR TEAM MATES?
Yes, you can pick up packets for family members and team mates as long as they have signed the waiver online. You will need a copy of their ID (if over 18). A picture on a cell phone of the ID will be accepted.
CAN WE PICK UP OUR RACE PACKET THE DAY OF THE RACE?
Yes, you may pick up your packet the day of the race. Please arrive to the venue by 9:00am. Be prepared to stand in line for a while!
ARE THERE SIGN UPS FOR WAVE TIMES?
Yes, you can sign up for a wave at Packet Pick Up at Everyday Fitness on May 11th, or the day of the event at the Everyday Fitness booth near the Start Line. First come, first serve. Team captains are able to sign up their teams in a wave time, and may pick up their teams packets at packet pick up if they have a copy of each team member’s ID and each member has already signed their waiver online. (Picture of an ID on phone will be accepted)
WHAT TYPE OF SHOES SHOULD I WEAR?
We recommend that participants wear shoes that they do not care to have drenched in mud. Because you will be running a 5K or 10K, you should have a dependable pair of running shoes that are supportive. Participants will often duct tape their shoes to ensure they don’t slip off in the mud.
AM I ABLE TO RINSE OFF AFTER MY RACE?
Yes – We will a provide rinse off station, but if you want to avoid the lines. Bring extra clothes to change into!

Awards will be given for the following categories:

ARE ANY AREA HOTELS OFFERING DISCOUNTS?
Yes, for those visiting Redding for the Shasta Mud Run, there will be several hotels offering discounts, as well as other activities and restaurants that weekend. Stay tuned for more info on locations.
IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE TO DO?
Yes!! There will be plenty to do! We will have local vendors, food, beverages, and the FREE After Party immediately following the race. Live Music by Cold Sweat! And don’t forget about the FREE Mud Pit for the kiddos!
WHAT IS THE AFTER PARTY?
You don’t want to miss out! There will be a FREE onsite After Party right next to the finish line, which means you have GREAT VIEWS of the last 3 obstacles!!! Live music by Cold Sweat will begin at 11:30am. Food and beverages will be available to purchase from local food vendors. Beer will be available to purchase, provided by Woody’s Brewing Co. and Redding Distributing. Everyone can attend the After Party!!
Are you signed up for a wave yet? Still got some time before your run time, head on over to the After Party to grab a drink before your run! No need to wait in a long line for your race time!
Are you a friend or family member not participating in the race? Head on over to the After Party to listen to some great music, grab some food and a beer, and watch as all of the racers finish up the last 3 obstacles and cross the finish line!
WHAT IS THE FREE KIDS MUD PIT?
The FREE Mini Muddies Mud Pit is a great place for kiddos 10 and under not participating in the race. There will be a hay bale castle and mud pits galore for them to play in! While there will be volunteers at the kids area, please do not leave kids unattended.
WILL THERE BE A PHOTOGRAPHER ON SITE TAKING PICTURES OF THE PARTICIPANTS?
There will be several photographers taking pictures throughout the course. We cannot guarantee that they will get a picture of everyone though. Be sure to have friends or family members not participating in the race ready with their cameras as you cross the finish line in mud covered glory! All pictures will be available on our website after the event.
CAN A FRIEND OR FAMILY MEMBER, NOT REGISTERED, TAKE PICTURES ON THE COURSE?
Only registered participants are allowed on the course due to safety and liability. There will be several observation decks where friends and family can take pictures. There will also be a photo booth available to take team and individual pictures at the FREE After Party (anyone can attend the After Party).
IS THERE TEAM REGISTRATION?
Yes! You are more than welcome to register as a team when you sign up online. In order to submit your team for others to sign up, make sure you complete your registration on that team first. Once the team is in our database, you are more than welcome to sign up multiple people with one transaction. **If you are have a discount code, each registration must be entered separately to be able to use the discount code.
WHAT ARE THE DISCOUNTS FOR TEAM REGISTRATION?
Teams of 4 or more will receive a discount of $5.00 per team member.
